Lapa Ríos is built in harmony with the surrounding forest and beach environment. The main lodge and bungalows line three ridges connected by walking paths and steps. Built more than 350 feet above the sea, Lapa Ríos catches the cooling tropical breezes. The main lodge, housing the restaurant and bar, soars 50 feet and is built of local, natural materials. Palm thatched roofs meet a three-storey hardwood circular stairway. Climb to overlook the forest canopy and breathtaking ocean vistas. Comfortable locally made bamboo furniture adds to guests� relaxation in this tranquil panorama of nature.

	Location: Lapa Ríos Ecolodge is more than just a beautiful rainforest hotel or eco-resort next to the beach on the Osa Peninsula in south-western Costa Rica, Corcovado.

	Hotel Facilities: Although remote and isolated, Lapa Ríos serves food and beverages not usually offered in the wilderness. Menus change daily and focus on fresh fruits, vegetables with local fish, chicken and meat. Lapa Ríos can provide for almost any dietary preference or restriction. There is 24-hour electricity available for battery charges, computers and razors. Daily laundry service is available.

	Recommended Activities: Activities at Lapa Ríos focus on the rainforest and the nearby ocean. Rainforest hikes, bird watching, ocean kayaking, horseback riding, catch-and-release sport fishing and surfing are some of the activities offered. Furthermore, guests can get massages, participate in yoga classes, relax at the pool with a tropical cocktail or just take a siesta in a hammock and perhaps observe the birds, monkeys and other animals that happen by. For many guests, the highlight is a tour to Corcovado National Park by plane, or night camping in the jungle.

Bungalow

The hotel�s 16 spacious bungalows, nestled within the rainforest, exude harmony and an immense tranquillity in this undisturbed environment. Each bungalow includes two queen-sized bamboo beds and newly remodelled bathrooms. As you shower, gaze out onto the endless ocean listening to the quiet symphony of the rolling waves. Life speaks a simple language here, providing the peace to meditate and find innocence forgotten, letting us embrace the magnificence of this wilderness adventure. All 16 bungalows are private and open onto the sea; they are spacious and can sleep up to four people in two queen-sized beds. Each has an indoor (solar-heated) shower and a private garden shower, two sinks, large closets, and a deck overlooking the rainforest and the ocean. All bungalow access requires stair and path walking.
